What Is Work aids
The extra m/c parts which may be attached to speed up the production and improve quality in the sewing m/c are called work aid.

Objectives of Work aids:
* To increase the production.
* To improve the quality of garments.
* To reduce the work – load on operator.
* To reduce the time for handling.
* To control the garments quality

Different types of work aids:
Guide: Guides are used for correct sewing in predetermined position or in a determined and proper distance from edge of fabric.
Compensation Test: Used to sew at 1-2 mm (very little distance) from the fabric ends.
Specialized Pressure Foot: Specialized pressure foot used for attaching of braid or elastic.
Rack Guide: Rack guide is used for the attachment of lace, braid, elastic with the garments parts.
Light: Special marker used which are not visible in normal light but visible in ultra violet ray.
Folder: Folder is device which is used to fold the fabrics prior to sewing.
Compressed Air: Compressed air helps to increase the quality of the products.
Stacker: The gets are shifted from m/c to m/c in bundle or box form.
Thread cutter: After sewing is completed, the thread is cut.
Stitch Jig: The small portion of garments is cut accurately by die.For precise and accurate sewing of such parts stitching jig is used.
Slack Feeding: Lace, braid, tape supplied in roll forms exists tension and attached in the gets in tension condition, seam pucker may be created due to shrinkage.Slack feeder is used to avoid this problem.
Elastification: Elastication can be made using folder in the front of pressure foot.Computerized elastication m/c increase products quality and productivity.
Latch Back Devices: In over edge sewing m/c the thread cutting ends can be secured with the air flow latch back.In this method one end can be lace back.
